Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Michael Patrick O'Neill, age 45, is a professional award-winning wildlife photographer, author, and conservationist specializing in marine wildlife and environmental issues. He lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and for the last 20 years has travelled extensively worldwide photographing diverse aquatic animals, habitats and man's impact on them. He has written and photographed seven, non-fiction marine life books designed to encourage people to get involved in science and conservation, and has had the privilege of having presented to more than 150,000 individuals across the US in the last 10 years promoting a greater appreciation for the natural world, especially the oceans and their inhabitants.
