A Great Hammerhead Shark, Sphyrna mokarran, attacks a Goliath Grouper, Epinephelus itajara, which has been improperly released by an angler, offshore Singer Island, Florida. Large fish, such as this Goliath, must first be vented before being returned to the water. The process of venting a fish includes removing the gas inside the fish which prevents it from diving below the surface, making it easy prey to predators like Hammerheads and other sharks.
